Forum rules and guidelines: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING
Before you start posting, please take the time to read the forum rules and guidelines.
It is important that you understand and follow these, as it is the best way to keep both yourself and other people happy with the discussions in the forum.
Before asking for help on a specific problem, it is recommended that you read our guide to getting help
Good luck!
Here they are again - remember to keep them in mind!
Forum Rules - READ BEFORE POSTING
Please take the time to read these rules before posting.
1. Don't make inflammatory posts or threads just to stir up the forum. Don't exaggerate just to make a point. Respect your fellow forum members, and don't vent your frustrations at them. No trolling.
2. No personal attacks. Attack the idea, not the person. Never post negative threads about other forum members.
3. No porn, sexually explicit, racist, warez related, or otherwise illegal posts. Posting information on cracking software which requires registration could get you banned.
4. Avoid foul language, especially in thread titles. Excessive swearing will be dealt with.
5. Flooding and/or spamming means instant ban. Turn off caps lock before posting, too.
6. No multiposting. (Posting the same post or thread more than once.)
7. Post in the right forum. If it's not about a bug, do not post in the bugs forum. If it's an enhancement suggestion, use the wishlist forum.
8. Contact a moderator if you disagree with a moderation. If you think you have been treated unfairly, contact the moderator directly rather than posting in the forum.
9. No server specific questions in the forum. If you don't know how to configure your mail account or set up a cron job, ask your isp or use google.
General Guidelines (Posting Tips) - READ BEFORE POSTING
These are a few tips on how to post if you want useful and helpful replies. Remember that people are there to help, and they do so of their own free will. By following these guidelines and the rules above, you make sure that people are more willing to help.
1. Make sure that you are using the latest version of Vemod News Mailer. (Download link)
2. Search before posting. Chances are it's been asked before, so you can find the answer without having to wait for someone to reply.
3. Use descriptive thread titles. Try to summarize your post in the title. It should reflect the content of your post. This makes it easier for others to find your thread, and to contribute.
4. Be specific and to the point. Lenghty rants can be a pain to read, and so the chances of a useful reply are drastically reduced. Remember, your audience is comprised of other users who help you in their own free time. Use paragraph and bulleted lists to make it easier to read.
5. Include all relevant information. Describe the problem briefly, but completely. Include the full error message, if any. If possible, include the exact URL and explain what the problem is and how it can be reproduced. List your joomla version and so on.
6. Don't hijack other people's threads. If you have a different problem than the one discussed in the thread, post a new thread or search for an existing threads dealing with your problems. Don't post messages that are off-topic to a thread in that thread.
7. Report back if the problem is solved. If the problem is solved, either with help from others or if you figured it out yourself, report back to the thread you posted it in, to let others know what worked for you. Other people may benefit from this in the future.
Remember that there are people behind all the names and nicks in the forum. Treat them with respect, and you will be treated with respect.

1. Search! Before posting a question or comment, please take the time to search the forum for existing discussions on the subject you are thinking of posting about. If you find an existing thread which seems to describe the problem you are having, post there instead of starting a new thread.
2. Post in the right forum! Try to find the most appropriate forum for your post.
3. Use a descriptive title! Try to briefly summarize the post with a descriptive title. "No mails" is a bad summary. "Allowed memory size of x bytes exhausted when clicking send mails" is a good summary. Include the site name and url, if applicable. As a rule of thumb, use at least three words in the subject. However, try to keep it brief.
4. Describe the problem properly! In the actual message, be specific and to the point. Include the full error message, if any. If you are having problem with a page, include the exact URL and explain what the problem is and how it can be reproduced. List your joomla version and so on. Avoid making comments that are not actually relevant to the problem.
Remember: If you make it easy for people to help you, you are more likely to get help.
